Editorial Board Members

Oscar Westlund (PhD) is professor at Oslo Metropolitan, and also holds positions at University of Gothenburg and Volda University College. He has since long employed various methods in his award winning interdisciplinary research into the production, distribution and consumption of news via different platforms. In recent years he has devoted more and more attention towards developing research reviews and conceptual frameworks. Westlund has published more than 100 articles, books, chapters and reports in several different languages, including articles in around twenty scientific journals. He won the ICA’s 2016 Wolfgang Donsbach Outstanding Journal Article of the Year Award (with Seth Lewis). He is the Editor-in-Chief of Digital Journalism, and serves a dozen editorial boards. Throughout 2017–2020 he leads a research project called the epistemologies of digital news production, funded by the Swedish Foundation for Humanities and Social Sciences. He is currently also an external research collaborator for two different national research projects that run in Singapore and Spain, respectively.
