Wen-Hong Liu is the director of the Marine Affair Research Center at the National Kaohsiung University of Science and Technology in Taiwan. He was awarded a national scholarship by the National Science Council in 2005 and exchanged to Cardiff University (UK) for advanced study. In 2006, Liu obtained his PhD in environmental biology and fisheries science at the National Taiwan Ocean University. Afterwards, he started his teaching career at the Department of Fisheries Production and Management in National Kaohsiung Marine University. Currently, he is a distinguished professor at the National Kaohsiung University of Science and Technology (NKUST). Liu also serves as the president of the Chinese Taipei Underwater Federation, as a counsellor on the Advisory Committee of the National Development Council, and as project leader of the University Social Responsibility (USR) project at NKUST. His expertise includes marine management, fisheries management, coastal area local revitalization, and coastal area climate change, etc. Liu has long devoted himself to research work concerning marine affairs management and policy planning and promotion. As for his academic contribution, Wen-Hong Liu serves as the associate editor of Marine Policy and also helped co-edit other distinguished journals, including Maritime Policy and Management, Coastal Management, Fishes, Marine Policy, and Frontiers in Marine Science. He assists edit special issues on marine affairs research and has published more than 50 articles on marine affairs. He is also helping promote local revitalization and conducting social responsibility tasks. In conclusion, Liu is accumulating energy to assist the innovation and development of the marine industry.
