Rachel Nichols is a senior lecturer at the Australian National Centre for Ocean Resources and Security, University of Wollongong, Australia. Rachel holds a PhD in economics from the University of Tasmania, Australia.
Rachel’s teaching activities within ANCORS span fisheries management and development, fisheries economics, and fish trade, with emphasis on the Australian and Indo-Pacific regional context. Rachel’s research activities and interests span a wide range of marine economics and governance issues, including the development of marine industries within the blue economy, economic valuation of marine-based activities, bioeconomic analysis of fisheries management, and transboundary fisheries governance and management.
