Christian Bueger is a professor of international relations at the University of Copenhagen, an honorary professor at the University of Seychelles, and one of the directors of SafeSeas—the network for maritime security.

He researches maritime security and global ocean politics from a practice theoretical perspective. He is the author of the forthcoming book Understanding Maritime Security together with Tim Edmunds.
