Dirk De Bièvre is associate professor and chair of the Department of Political Science at the University of Antwerp. He obtained his PhD in Social and Political Sciences from the European University Institute in Firenze in 2002, after which he was postdoc at the Max Planck Max Planck Institute for Research on Collective Goods in Bonn and at the Mannheim Centre for European Social Research. He has published extensively on multilateral politics in the World Trade Organization and European Union trade policy, as well as on the role of interest groups.He is co-author of The Trade Policy of the European Union (EU Series, London: Macmillan HE Int., 2018) with Sieglinde Gstöhl. Together with Arlo Poletti (University of Trento), he wrote Judicial Politics and International Cooperation: From Dispute Settlement to Deal-Making in the World Trade Organization, ECPR Press, which won the 2017 Book Award of the International Law Section of the International Studies Association (ILAW-ISA).
