Hans-Joachim Lauth

Hans-Joachim Lauth is professor for Comparative Politics and German Government at the Institute for Political Science and Sociology, University of Wuerzburg since 2008. He received his PhD at the University of Mainz in 1991. In 2002 he finished his second book about Democratic Theory and Measuring Democracy. For many years, he was one of the speakers of the working group on “Research on Democracies” of the German Association of Political Science. He was board member of the IPSA Committee on Concepts and Methods during 2006-2012. His current topics of research concern democracy, informal institutions, Rule of Law, civil society and comparative methods.
