Kirsi Juhila is professor in Social Work at the Faculty of Social Sciences at Tampere University, Finland. Her research interests include institutional interaction in social welfare settings and issues of social exclusion, marginalisation and homelessness. She is co-editor of Analysing Social Work Communication (Routledge, 2014) and Responsibilisation at the Margins of Welfare (Routledge, 2017). She is currently leading a research project titled ‘Geographies of home-based service interactions at the margins of welfare in Finland and Sweden’ (2017-2022) and ‘From Demolished Housing Communities to New Homes’ (2021-2023). She is a founding member of Margi Research Group at Tampere University.
