Editorial Board Members

Brigitte Schels is a professor of empirical social structure analysis at the Paris Lodron University of Salzburg since October 2024. She was senior researcher at the Institute for Employment Research (IAB) in Nuremberg, and assistant professor of labor market sociology at Friedrich-Alexander-University Erlangen-Nuremberg (FAU) until 2024. From 2020 to 2021, she was visiting professor of social stratification and quantitative methods at the University of Vienna. She received her doctoral degree in sociology from the University of Mannheim. Her main research is on social inequalities on the labour market and the household. Her research interests cover occupational aspirations and choice, school-to-work transitions, occupational gender segregation, employment careers, and poverty.
