Dr. Simone R. Haasler is a social scientist with a research interest in labor market developments, work trajectories and careers, skills, and learning in an international comparative perspective. Before taking up her current position as Deputy Head of the Research Support Division of Goethe University Frankfurt, Germany, she was Head of Department at GESIS Leibniz Institute of the Social Sciences. Her publications focus on labor market segregation by gender, addressing the interplay between vocational education and training systems, labor market structures, and welfare systems. In these research fields she has managed numerous European research projects and provided advice to European programmes. Before starting her academic career, she worked as Education Specialist for the World Bank in Washington D.C., USA.
