Dr. Sumita Ghosh is an architect and urban planner with more than thirty years of teaching, research, and professional experience. Her research expertise focuses on green infrastructure planning and policy (including green roofs, urban agriculture, and urban forests), spatial planning using GIS and remote sensing, and resilient cities and communities. She has worked for the government, local councils, research organisations, and universities in Australia New Zealand and India. She has participated in the research team and has led multidisciplinary research projects with various Australian universities, industries (such as Hort Innovation Australia, Landcom), local governments (such as City of Sydney), and the Foundation for Research Science and Technology (FRST), New Zealand Government on green infrastructure, sustainable settlement modeling, and community development practices. She is currently working as the Associate Professor in Planning, Course Director of the Postgraduate On-campus Planning Program and Higher Degree Research (HDR) Coordinator at the School of Built Environment, University of Technology Sydney, Australia.
